Heat pumps
Fix the roof first. Then the heat pump can be small.
A well-insulated house needs a smaller, quieter, cheaper unit. We design it after the fabric is sorted, not before.
Step 1 · Day 0
Heat-loss design
Every room measured, every window and wall counted. The unit is sized from numbers, not from the old boiler.
Step 2 · Day 1
Outdoor unit and cylinder
The unit goes on a pad at the side of the house, a metre clear of the wall's corner, with the pipes run neatly inside.
Step 3 · Day 2–3
Radiators and handover
Only the radiators that need upsizing are changed. We set the weather curve with you and come back after the first cold week.

Is the thermal survey really free?
Yes, when it is part of a quote. On its own it is a fixed fee that we deduct if you go ahead with any work.
Why do you prefer cold mornings?
Thermal cameras need a big difference between inside and outside. Early on a cold day, before the sun warms the walls, the leaks show clearly.
Do I need a new roof to get a heat pump?
No. But fixing the loft and the worst draughts first usually means a smaller unit and lower running costs.
Who does the work?
Our own employed roofers and heating engineers. We only bring in a specialist for scaffolding, and we manage it.
What guarantee do I get?
Ten years on our workmanship, plus the manufacturer's warranty on any unit or materials, in writing with your invoice.
